Saw some people on the trail between there and Glady Creek.
Partnr his wife; shortly after pressed on. Hiked to the nice overlook where Indian Staircase is visible forget the name My dog was beat by that time, and slept the whole way home Lost the back cover though.
Took a little break near the pinch'em tight trail for lunch. Feet a little more sore. Needed water bad after all the ridge hiking that day. About 15 miles Overall a great trip.
Felt like a long time to the dam, but made it through. He was draging a little today due to the mileage. Made a little camp fire, and relaxed it a waist deep hole in the stream. Power hiked that section averaging nearly 3 mph. Long morning hike uphill after that. This older gentleman was on porch swing smoking his pipe, and offered to help me. Refilled water at clear creek.
Shed pack, looking at my maps, and walked down road a little ways. Dry feet and determination encouraged me to hike the section from the dam to Hwy 60, instead of walking along to meet my ride. Made camp at the valley bottom where the streams intersect. Lunch hikinng soon after I left Day 1: Started out about noon, a few miles south of Natural bridge.

As I was descending to the lodging area, I dropped my phone off of the side of a steep hill, which I needed to make a call when I got off of the trail and the battery fell out on impact, not cool. Meals were tuna and rice at night, homemade granola mistress kumiko the mornings, and peanut butter and trail mix in tortilla for lunch.
Road hiking in the morning.
Pleasant conversation. He told me about his life: Korea, factory worker, his grandkids, and the like. Was not able to have my GPS on the whole time because it is not very battery efficient, and I did not bring enough batteries. Was hoping to make it to clear creek, but rain slowed me a little bit. More on that.

I was hiking with my dog, Dre, who did well on the 10 mile days, but not so well on the 15 mile days. Least favorite part: road hiking. Met the guy that owns the bike shop on But anyways, made it to Natural Bridge area hikjng I began to see any one.
Took a little bit to find trail head, but I found it off of Big Bend Ridge after a little hunting down. The rain cleared most people out, which was nice. Huking deleted after idle days.
A letter to oboz friends and family
Note: Picture order is opposite of chronological. It was sweet, one of my best detours to tell the truth.
That was the more populated section, obviously. Trail off of could be a little bit easier to access, but well marked. I lingered to wait for the rain to lighten up.
Hiked to Corner Ridge road, and I was tired, but it was about 3pm, so I decided to push on. Wet afternoon; dinner in a rock shelter waiting for rain to pattner.
Uneventful after that. Slightly confusing intersection a little south of Sulfur springs where one trail goes to look out, another goes around front of hillbut I chose right.

I grabbed my pipe while he got a gallon of water for my dog, and we smoke tobacco on his porch hkiing a little bit. Dried them out during afternoon break at the dam. Had service got to make a couple phone calls catch up with friends. He was doing some clearing for the adventure race that happened there at the end of July.
Took lunch at Glady Creek, had a nice, refreshing swim in the swim hole there. Morning break a little north of clear creek. Feet hurting a little, and still wet from yesterday's rain.
